5-inch Android identity terminal with NXP NFC, 2D scanning and fingerprint module options — for enrolment away from the desk.
A rugged Android tablet that captures identity where the person stands: FAP10, FAP20 and FAP30 fingerprint sensors, face recognition with liveness detection, NFC and contactless smart card reading at 13.56 MHz, second-generation ID card readers, passport MRZ and chip reading, and 2D barcode engines. Each module is built into the housing and driven through an SDK, so your application captures, verifies and stores the record on the same device. Factory direct from Shenzhen, with OEM and ODM configuration of the modules, firmware and housing.
A biometric tablet combines an industrial Android tablet with an identity capture module mounted in the housing and wired to the mainboard. Instead of scanning a document and typing the result into a separate computer, the operator captures the fingerprint, reads the identity card or taps an NFC credential, and the record is created on the same device — with the timestamp, the operator ID and the transaction attached.
Because the module is part of the build rather than an accessory plugged into a port, the device stays sealed, the capture position is repeatable, and the capture module survives the same drops, dust and water spray as the tablet around it. That is the difference between a consumer tablet with a dongle and a biometric terminal that can be deployed for years.
| If you are searching for | What it means on our devices |
|---|---|
| Biometric tablet | A rugged Android tablet with the identity module built into the housing — fingerprint, face, card or NFC — not a tablet with a reader plugged into a port. |
| Fingerprint tablet | FAP10 capacitive or FAP20 and FAP30 optical sensors, chosen by the record format your application has to produce. See the FAP 10, FAP 20 and FAP 30 guide. |
| Identity verification tablet | Capture plus matching: read the card or passport, take the fingerprint or the face, confirm 1:1 or 1:N, and store the record with a timestamp and operator ID attached. |
| Biometric enrollment tablet | Registration away from the office — capture in the field, store the record offline, synchronise when the team returns. See the enrollment guide. |
Most deployments use two or three of these. Which ones you need is settled by the credential your population carries and the record you have to produce — not by the device.
Single-finger capture with capacitive or optical sensors, selected by the profile your application has to produce.
Capture without contact, with liveness detection to reject a photograph or a mask.
Read the chip instead of typing from the card, at 13.56 MHz.
Read the national identity card offline, with hardware decoding rather than software guesswork.
Two independent checks on the same document — optical and chip.
Pair identity capture with the document or label that has to travel with it.
The tablet is half the device. The other half is whether your application can drive the modules, and whether the build matches the deployment.
Current builds ship on Android with GMS, so your APK behaves the way it behaves on any managed Android fleet.
Your application calls the module, not a vendor app in the middle.
The module set is fixed before the housing and mainboard are built, so the device is assembled around the module rather than adapted afterwards.
Capture modules are optional on most platforms, so the starting question is the form factor and the environment, not the module.

5-inch Android identity terminal with NXP NFC, 2D scanning and fingerprint module options — for enrolment away from the desk.

IP65 tablet with wired RJ45, 10,000 mAh and optional fingerprint, ID card reader, NFC or 2D engine — for counters and vehicles.

Two facing touch displays, ID card reading and a document camera, so the applicant sees what the operator captures.

General-purpose Android tablet with 4G and 10,000 mAh — add a capacitive or optical fingerprint module when identity checks sit inside a wider field workflow.
| Model | Form factor | Typical identity work | Capture options |
|---|---|---|---|
| XH-100 biometric handheld terminal | 5-inch handheld, 2D scanning, NFC | Mobile enrolment, door-to-door verification, field checks | Fingerprint, NFC, 2D engine |
| XH-400 10.1-inch mobile biometric tablet | 10.1-inch tablet, IP65, wired RJ45, 10,000 mAh | Counters, enrolment stations, vehicle and kiosk mounting | Fingerprint, ID card reader, NFC, 2D engine |
| Dual-screen ID verification terminal | Counter terminal with an applicant-facing screen | Bank branches, service halls, registration desks | ID card reader, fingerprint, document camera, 2D engine |
| Android handheld PDA | 6-inch handheld, removable battery, RFID option | Warehouse and field work that also needs identity checks | Fingerprint, RFID, NFC, 2D engine |
| XH-500 10.1-inch rugged tablet | 10.1-inch rugged tablet, 4G, 10,000 mAh | Field and warehouse work where identity checks are occasional rather than the main task | Optional fingerprint (capacitive or optical), ID card reader, RFID, 2D engine |
| 10-inch and 8-inch rugged tablets | Rugged tablet platforms for OEM configuration | Fixed stations and vehicle mounts in harsh environments | Configurable per project |
Two capture decisions usually follow: which fingerprint profile your record format requires, and whether the ID check has to run offline. Our FAP 10, FAP 20 and FAP 30 guide covers the first; the second is settled by choosing the offline reader, with an online version available when the workflow depends on a central service.
Enrolment away from the office: capture the fingerprint or read the card, store the record offline, and synchronise when the team returns.
Fingerprint approval, card reading and a traceable audit trail at the counter, with an applicant-facing screen.
Document authentication, biometric matching and offline watchlist checks on a device that travels in the vehicle.
